The Role
Open Management is hiring for a full-time maintenance member at our manufactured housing community in Jackson, Michigan. 

 

Residential maintenance members are responsible for unit turnovers, mild to moderate rehab work, and general maintenance tasks throughout the property. They will perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of the mobile home park. They conduct home/building maintenance repairs. They are responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of property grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and various utility systems as needed. They are also expected to provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents at all times.   


Compensation
Hourly Rate: $20-$22

What You'll Do
  • Unit Turns & Rehabs

    • Prepare units for new occupancy by performing cleaning, painting, flooring, fixture replacement, and basic remodeling.

    • Execute mild to moderate rehab tasks including drywall repair, cabinet/countertop replacement, and trim work.

    • Ensure all work is completed to company standards and within designated timelines.

  • Maintenance Duties

    • Complete service requests in occupied homes (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting).

    • Perform preventive maintenance across the community.

    • Assist with utility hookups, skirting repair, and exterior home maintenance.

  • Community Support

    • Maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas and vacant lots.

    • Conduct move-in/move-out inspections and report on needed repairs.

    • Assist with landscaping and seasonal tasks as needed.


What We're Looking For
  • A High School diploma or GED required
  • Experience in residential or manufactured home maintenance

  • Proficient in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting

  • Construction experience desired

  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently

  • Strong ability to follow instructions and directions, including following safety protocol

  • Understand, read, write and speak English in order to follow basic instructions, take direction from supervisors, respond to routine questions and communicate effectively with clients, visitors, and organization staff

Travel
As part of the job responsibilities, this position requires the willingness and ability to conduct local travel as needed. This may involve running errands related to business operations and fulfilling various tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the park and tenant’s needs. The extent and frequency of travel will depend on the specific demands of the job and may vary over time.
